Squash

LCC Squash is a highly active club, part of the overall LCC Sports Complex facilities. We have two squash courts, which have recently been renovated and upgraded, and are of the highest national standard.

The club caters both for top-level players as well as those who simply want to play social squash. There are almost 100 active players and standards range from beginner to international. The squash league season runs from September to March, but many players play social squash throughout the year.

There is an active programme of events and fixtures to cater for all grades. Each year, the club fields five/six men’s Leinster League teams, ladies teams, veterans team and Saturday League teams, so that anyone who wants to play competitively at any level will have a chance of doing so.

There is an active ladder system onto which new members can challenge at any time. There are regular rolling “box leagues” where groups of about 5 around the same level of ability play each other over about 6 weeks.

The Club Championships are held at the end of each season. There are regular ‘blitzes’ run over the course of an evening, and a tournament at Christmas. Training and coaching sessions are also available. All of these activities mean every player can get regular games and meet new opponents.

Court bookings, ladder rankings and league results are all available online. There are other informal social events, such as the annual pub quiz. Friday night is social night for those who want to come down to play squash and have a drink in the bar afterwards.
